"WATCHING(The World is Blue)" By Chris

Using idea-encoded imagery, Costan works in a variety of media including painting, collage and tabletop sculpture/bricolage. More recently she has created interventions that are made to be placed and photographed in unsanctioned, outdoor locations, such as NYC, Kingston, NY, Bethlehem, PA, Washington, DC and Berlin, Germany. These “interventions” which comment on personal and worldwide concerns were prompted by a 2019 residency in Berlin. Currently, she has created two unique flags for the @Grand.Flag project curated by artist @JamesEsber. The image, WATCHING, was created for Grand Flag and is an extension of the intervention work. It is being used as my first NFT. WATCHING(The World is Blue), as a flag, and the interventions are a form of public address.
