"Wet and Blue II." By Julia Standovar

This photograph is the second part of a triptych called Wet and Blue, the images were taken at the end of the summer 2020, Upstate, New York. The original material is 35mm color negative film which was digitalized.  
 

 Wet and Blue is part of the project called Kinky Concrete which includes digital photography, prints and concrete objects.
 Only as an ensemble, however, can one understand their shared language. Together, the individual peculiarities of the different material languages (sculpture, photograph, poster) can be understood as part of a singular female-driven universe: Standovár creates a language of forms, shapes, and text that convey ideas of womanhood and sexuality with hints of humour and irony.
