"Love As Activism" By Michele Pred

I believe in Love as Activism. This NFT is based on a neon piece that is currently in my solo exhibition "Freedom is for Everybody" at Project Plus Gallery. I believe that love is a powerful vehicle for creating political change. And not just any kind of love; but radical love. The kind of radical, activist love practiced by Martin Luther King. The kind of love that drives people to volunteer to escort young women to planned parenthood through a gauntlet of intolerance or facedown a phalanx of rushing police in Portland. The kind of love required to heal our polarized world and the kind of love required to respond to the violent, racist, and fascist attack on our democracy that took place on January 6.
